Sterling Partners Equity Advisors Named Top Gun Manager by Informa Investment Solutions

Investment Advisor Named to List for Outstanding Performance for the Seventh Quarter

CHICAGO--()--Sterling Partners Equity Advisors (“SPEA”), an SEC Registered Investment Adviser specializing in long-only, small-capitalization equity investment strategies, announced today that it was recognized by Informa Investment Solutions’ PSN manager database as a “Top Gun” investment manager. This is the seventh time in just two years that SPEA has been recognized for its performance across multiple investment categories. SPEA was formed in 2017 as an affiliate of Sterling Partners, a Chicago-based diversified investment management firm.

Investment Philosophy & Decision Making

Led by Chief Investment Officer Kevin Silverman, who has 35 years of institutional equity experience, Sterling Partners Equity Advisors’ investment decision-making process is centered on a research-driven, fundamentals-based effort to estimate the intrinsic value – or “true worth” – of companies. SPEA focuses on companies within the market-capitalization range of the Russell 2000 Value Index and those it believes offer the best total return on a risk-adjusted basis. SPEA constructs extensive financial models of its candidates for purchase, reviews public filings and conference call transcripts, and analyzes competitors, suppliers, and customers to make its best estimate of intrinsic value and expected return. Traditional value investors relying on old school metrics may be missing opportunities.

“We work hard with the goal of achieving good returns for our clients, and we are thrilled to be recognized as a Top Gun Manager,” said Silverman. “Our team is particularly proud of the risk-containment element within our overall strategy. By paying attention to a margin of safety, analyzing risk and the volatility of earnings, we have been able to consistently and successfully offer our clients risk-adjusted returns and value.”

For the second consecutive quarter, SPEA was recognized as a “Top Gun Manager” in both its small-cap and large-cap value strategies, with improved rankings from the previous quarter. Informa’s PSN manager database is one of North America’s longest-running databases of investment managers.
